Statement from Shooting Industry Foundation of Australia:
The Shooting Industry Foundation of Australia is the peak body representing one of this country’s oldest and most respected industries.
We have earned this trust and uphold our reputation by continually evolving to meet community standards of safety, security and sovereignty.
Last week, we contacted the offices of Leeanne Enoch MP to ask why, as QLD Labor Minister for Small Business, she had felt it appropriate to launch an online petition against the interests of a small business in her own electorate.
The business had placed a billboard advertisement for the economically critical Christmas Retail Sales period.
SIFA received no reply from the Office of the QLD Labor Minister for Small Business, however it was noted that her petition was taken down shortly after we made contact.
It is outrageous that a small business which serves a legal, open and ethical market should be targeted by a QLD Labor MP.
It is outrageous that that same QLD Labor MP is the serving Minster for Small Business.
It is outrageous that in her petition the Labor Minister called for a complete ban of firearms for any use, including Olympic sports, agriculture, feral pest control, stock protection and accessible, inclusive recreation.
Australian Licensed Firearms Dealers are held to extremely high standards.
Would that the same standard be met by the Member for Algester.
SIFA works across Australia in research, advocacy, education and safety promotion and is a proud supporter of the Flick’em Movement.
